Country Cycle’s modest beginnings are rooted in an extensive history. Henry Klassen of Chortitz Manitoba started Country Cycle in 1980 after acquiring a stock of bike parts from a gentleman running a small operation during the 60’s and 70’s in Winkler Manitoba.
Henry Klassen set up shop in the same small village of Chortitz where he resided. He built Country Cycle up to become a full service bike shop that included both bike repairs and sales. This is where Country Cycle operated under the radar until 2009 when Peter Loewen (vote for Pedro) purchased and relocated the business to the city of Winkler.
The Country Cycle Approach
The mission at Country Cycle is to establish ourselves as a leader within the biking community, to put more people on bikes, more often. We are committed to doing so by providing opportunity though community based bike programs and riding clubs.
