Indigenous Community Bike Race
On Wednesday October 16, 2024 Country Cycle (together with Eric Mentuck) hosted our first ever indigenous community bike race at the Squirrel Hills recreation area in Minnedosa Manitoba.
What: A mountain bike race for Indigenous communities.
- The race washeld for schools and other community groups.
- Participants under age 18 were placed into age categories.
- Participants either signed up to do the race solo or in a team of two.
- The winner of each category was determined by how many total laps were completed and how much time it took for each lap.
- For communities who didn't have bikes there were a limited amount of rentals available.
- There was a $25 registration fee per person to cover food and prizing.
Where: Squirrel Hills in Minnedosa Manitoba
When: October 16th from about 11:30am to 3pm.
Why: Mountain biking on good trails is one of the most amazing ways to spend time outside. Not only does it connect you with the land but it's a way for people to come together and celebrate the outdoors.
